In the Middle East Edition, we cannot guarantee that the printing, including color, will consistently meet the quality standards found in less hectic areas. Stars and Stripes has set its Middle East Edition rates accordingly and will not make any financial adjustments due to less than optimal reproduction in the Middle East Edition.
File Submission Guidelines
Pick-up Discounts – Pick-up discounts are for ads without copy changes run within any seven consecutive days. Color is not discounted. No pick-up discounts are available in the Friday newspaper. The discount from any day into the first and second pick-up days is 25%. The discount from any day into the third pick-up day is 35%. The discount from any day into the fourth pick-up day (also the 5th and 6th pick-up days in the Middle East edition) is 45%. Discounts do not apply to full page ads.
Weekend Edition Premium – Advertisements appearing in the Europe & Pacific Weekend Edition of Stars and Stripes (Friday-Sunday) will incur a 10% premium. The premium does not apply to the Middle East Edition of Stars and Stripes.
General Conditions – Unless otherwise noted, the minimum ROP ad size is two column inches. All advertising lineage is billed in column inch increments. Lineage is measured by column width and height. The minimum height increase is 1/2 inch against the total column width. Double truck advertising (center spread) will be billed at 11 columns wide. Double truck color will be billed at the one-page four color rate plus a 10% premium. (ROP ONLY)
Cash Discounts – There is no cash discount. All Rates are Net.
Color – Color pricing is based on printing done at our press facilities worldwide. Our Italian and select Middle East presses do not have all the color pages available as our German facility. The color rates have been set accordingly so Stars and Stripes will not make any financial adjustments when color is not available. We have limited color capacity in select areas.
Standby rates – Available only to clients under contract and applicable only to previously run ads with no copy changes. Standby ads run only when needed and at the discretion of Stars and Stripes. Rates are 50% off contract rates. Standby ads do not count toward fulfillment of contracts. Standby ads are only available in quarter, half and full page increments.
Charity Rates – 501(c)3 Organizations will be billed at the 6,500-inch contract level. Display ads only.
